Newton's First Law of Motion

Subject: General Physics

Newton’s first law deals with objects at rest or those moving at constant speed. Newton stated that if the resultant force on an object is zero then an object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will continue its motion in the same direction at constant speed. This means that all objects have a natural tendency to keep on doing what they are doing. The reluctance or resistance of a mass to change its state of motion is referred to as inertia.
