Overview
The appendix is a small pouch-like organ located near the junction of the small and large intestines in the human body. While its exact function is not fully understood, it is believed to play a role in immune system health. In some cases, the appendix may need to be surgically removed if it becomes inflamed or infected.Appendix

When the appendix becomes blocked or infected, it can cause inflammation and a condition called appendicitis.
Large Intestine Cecum
The appendix is attached to the first part of the large intestine, called the cecum. The large intestine is the final part of the digestive system. It is responsible for absorbing water, electrolytes, and some vitamins and forming and eliminating feces from the body.
Small Intestine Ileum
The ileum is the final part of the small intestine. It is responsible for absorbing nutrients, vitamins, and minerals from the food we eat, which are then transported to the bloodstream.
